Meet Lisa LaDue
Lisa LaDue is a dedicated professional with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Visual Disabilities, Teacher for the Visually Impaired and Blind (TVI), which she earned from Florida State University in 2006. Passionate about early intervention, in 2012, Lisa furthered her education by obtaining a Master of Science Degree with a specialization in Visual Disabilities from Florida State University. For the past 17 years, she has focused her career on working with children aged birth to 3 years who are visually impaired or blind. Driven by a lifelong aspiration, she realized her dream in January 2024 by establishing Through a Child’s Eyes, her own business. Through this venture, she continues to provide creative and tailored vision activities for each infant, serving as a constant source of encouragement for their families. “I enjoy collaborating with parents to help them find ways to create a responsive learning environment for their child that promotes active hands-on participation, encourages social interaction, and addresses individual learning needs throughout the child’s daily routine.”
In pursuit of continuous professional development and an enhanced understanding of infants with visual impairments and additional disabilities, Lisa has undertaken various specialized continuing education courses. A few of the in-depth studies include, Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI), Neuroplastic Changes in Ocular versus Cortical Causes of Visual Impairment, CVI basics, Charge Syndrome, Building Strategies around CVI Phases, Autism Navigation, Ophthalmologic Examination Integrated with Functional Aspect, and Teaching Students with Disabilities. “These courses have equipped me with valuable insights and expertise to better serve the unique needs of the infants and their families.”
Lisa finds joy in spending quality time with her family, friends, and indulging in activities, such as reading, exercising, cooking, and traveling during her leisure time.
LISA LADUE • BS, MS, Early Intervention Specialist for Infants with Visual Impairments and Teacher for the Visually Impaired and Blind.
“As a Community Outreach Worker who assigned service providers to children with varying delays and disabilities, Lisa was never one to disappoint. She is an impeccable individual full of passion and knowledge in her field. She commits herself fully to the children and families she serves. I have yet to encounter another person who dedicates themselves the way she does, both personally and professionally.
Lisa possesses a unique ability to describe the most complex aspects related to vision, challenges with vision, and how to work through those challenges in a way everyone can comprehend. Lisa is extremely skillful and solution oriented, compassionate and full of hope. Such attributes are invaluable when working with families, especially those families navigating one of the most difficult periods of their lives.”
